[SOLVED] Post installation problem

After succesful installation, navigating to the root of the web site redirects to /installation/index.php.
I have deleted all files and database tables and reinstalled repeatedly without success. I am using just the template (no Joomla already installed).
The admin pages seem to work OK.
I hope someone has some ideas. Thanks in advance.
