Is it possible to use the postion headerbar-a only on the homepage? Even if I 'm not publishing the module headerbar-a on other pages, there is still a lot of blank space ...

Hi there,
the space depends on the class uk-height-viewport. That means it is always height like the Brwoser screen.
Assing the headerbar-a to home menu item and use headerbar-b for all other menu items
