I have set up the front page (home) to show no joomla output, working perfectly with one language - thank you for this very nice option. I am running into problems, however, trying to get the frontpage to show no Joomla content in DE and EN using the language switcher. To make the language switcher work I have to create new menus and menu items for each language - forcing me to chose e.g. an article type to allow for the "default page=yes" setting required. I have not found any solution on what menu item type to choose to make the "no Joomla content" output happen in two languages? Any support is greatly appreciated.

Good question! But I have to confess that I dont know a solution about that.
A special template layout can be assigned only to a menu item, maybe you have to create a "home" menu item for each language.

Another and more simplier solution maybe:
1.) Enable the Joomla System output for all template layouts
2.) Create an article and insert a module into the article.

Thanks for the hints! I tested successfully:
- creating the new "home"menus
- assigning the "no content" layout to the new menus
- assigning the language-specific modules to the "home" pages

I might just test the easier second solution - but I thought you might know if your idea worked
