The installation is not going through for the quickstart snowflake 3. It reaches the second screen where the installation is suppose to begin creating the database using the database credentials provided. These are correct and still there is indication that "could not connect to mysql database" What could be going wrong here? If the credentials are correct you would believe the connection would take place. Ive installed many times using the quickstarts for templates and have not run into this issue.

Please provide your guidance.

Seems to be a sql connection issue. Please make sure that your sql data are right.
Did you try to install the basic Joomla 3 without quickstart?
Is there an old Joomla installation maybe on your server too. If yes please delete or rename the old "configuration.php"
