Server using MariaDB
Hi,
I bought the template Easy and am very happy with it - thank you very much for making this nice template!
In order to build my new site and still have the old one online during this time, I built the new one on a local server. I didn't thought this would become an issue, but I installed Joomla4, selected php8.0.12 and MySQL8.0.27 on the local server and then built my new website with them. But today (and after having spent intensive work on my new website) I tried to transfer it onto my online server (infomaniak), however the website isn't working there (Error 500; I don't have the link, because I put the old website online again). According to the support of my provider, it is because their server uses MariaDB10.4 (without possibility to change) and my website uses MySQL8.0.27.
Now, I'm not sure what I shoud do. Are the template Easy and the plugins used with it compatible with MariaDB10.4? It there a way to convert my current MySQL database into MariaDB without having to build the whole website again?
I tried to read the recommandations there mariadb.com/kb/en/upgrading-from-mysql-to-mariadb/ but didn't understand them.
In case it would be "easier" to build the website again (i.e. new joomla installation, new MariaDB database, re-installing the Easy template, importing the customization of the Easy template I did previously, re-creating in joomla all the menus, articles, modules, associations I had done.....), this would still be a lot of work.
Maybe someone had a similar issue or has a recommendation of what would be the best to do?
Thank you very much,
Julie

Hello,
the template and all extensions are working with MySQL and Maria DB, BUT you cant convert your local MySQL to your MariaDB. Of course its possible, but a bit complicated.
I would install your old site on a local Server with MariaDB and then install it online.

Hello,
Thank you very much for your answer. As it would be too complicated to re-write the MySQL files into MariaDB language, I think the easiest would be to re-create my website on a server with MariaDB. I would have to recreate the structure with the menus, articles and modules, but could at least copy/paste all the texts and import the custom parameters from astroid). Is it also what you mean?
If I re-build my website, I read that there are softwares allowing to transfer the articles and categories from a joomla installation to another. This would allow to spare a lot of time. Do you have a recommandation for one of these softwares (or any other recommandation that would make the process easier)?

Hello,
1.) Yes import and export of the template style is possible and very easy with astroid
2.) Import/export joomla article is possible too, But in this I have no experience.Take a look here
extensions.joomla.org/instant-search/?je...ve%5Bquery%5D=import
3.) Some tools are just import article and then you have to re-create the modules..
